The safari starts and ends in Kigali .

DAY 1 ARRIVAL – AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Arrive Kigali. Meet and greet. Be driven to Akagera National park, which has beautiful undulating plains with dense, broad-leafed woodland, lighter acacia woodland and rolling grassland with an extensive series of lakes linked by papyrus swamps forming a sprawling wetland. Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge (FB)

DAY 2 AKAGERA NATIONAL PARK
Full day with game drives in the park. The game in the park to be sported includes elephant, buffalo, giraffe and lion and different antelope. Overnight: Akagera Game Lodge (FB)

DAY 3 BUTARE – NYUNGWE
Drive to Butare. Visit the National Museum , which has a fine display of the history of the country and people. Lunch is made at Ibis Hotel and continues to Nyungwe NP.
Overnight: Gisakura guesthouse (FB)

DAY 4 NYUNGWE NATIONAL PARK
Primates trekking (Chimps, Colobus monkeys, etc...) Around 300 bird species, 24 of which are regional endemics and over 100 varieties of orchids and butterflies are other attractions. Lunch at the Guest House. Then drive to Lake Kivu.Overnight : Kibuye Guesthouse (FB)

DAY 5 LAKE KIVU
Morning boat ride on the lake. Lake Kivu, on the Rwanda/Congo border, the largest, is like a giant inland Lake with some interesting lakeside towns
Drive along the lake to Gisenyi.Overnight: Kivu Sun Hotel (FB)

DAY 6 VOLCANOES NATIONALPARK
After an early breakfast, drive to Ruhengeri/Kinigi.
First Gorilla trek. Gorilla tracking in Parc National des Volcanoes (subject to permit availability at the time of booking). Tracking the gorillas through the light mountain forest on the slopes of the Virungas is a magical experience. If you are lucky you can get to the gorillas, spend an hour with them, and be back at the base in time for a late lunch! Some gorilla families, however, are more elusive, and tracking can take a full day, especially when it is wet and muddy Overnight: Gorillas Nest Lodge (FB)

DAY 7 MORE GORILLAS
Second Gorilla trek.
Lunch at the lodge before proceeding back Kigali.   Overnight: Hotel des Mille Collines /Umubano Hotel /Hotel Gorillas

DAY 8 DEPARTURE
After breakfast, with time permitting, visit the genocide site and shopping of African craft, transfer to the airport. End of Services.
