GORILLA SAFARI IN RWANDA (4 DAYS) TOUR CODE: UTM RW 001

This safari starts and ends in Kigali .

Parc National des Volcans (PNV) in the North of Rwanda where about 300 mountain gorillas live. There are four habituated gorilla families – Amahoro, “Group 13”, Sabinyo and Susa - each of the groups allows up to 8 participants per day. You can track gorillas, climb the Visoke volcano, track the golden monkeys or visit the Karisoke Research Centre, which Dian Fossey the famous primatologist set up, or visit local villages.

Four Day Itinerary

Day 1: KIGALI

You are personally met by our driver/guide upon arrival at Kanombe ( Kigali ) airport. Exchange greetings before transferring to Kigali City for overnight at Hotel des Mille Collines /Umubano Hotel /Hotel Gorillas

Day 2: VOLCANOES NATIONALPARK
Early start on a good tarmac road for two hours North of Kigali to Kinigi or Muko via Ruhengeri. Enjoy the rolling hills for which Rwanda is famous for. Transfer to Kinigi Park Headquarter First Gorilla trek in the park.

Option of climbing the awesome Visoke volcano, or trek to Karisoke Research Centre which Dian Fossey, the famous primatologist, set up, or visit local communities. Alternatively for those who are not up to it, simply relax at Camp and enjoy local traditional performances. Overnight: Gorillas Nest Lodge (FB)

DAY 3 MORE GORILLAS
Second Gorilla trek.
In Parc National des Volcans to get set to trek gorillas. Gorilla tracking through the forest, hills and swamps can be tough, arduous and tiring, sometimes taking up to 8 hours in the forest. But coming face to face with the great ancestors of man is well worth the effort. Overnight at Gorilla Nest Hotel.

Gorilla Nest Hotel (FB).

Day 4: Leave for Kigali. Time permitting; go for city tour including a Genocide memorial site and shopping of African art and craft. Transfer to airport for your flight. End of Services

What is included: Transfers from the Airport, Transportation, Use of English-speaking driver /guide, Accommodation on FB as per itinerary, Two gorilla permits per person to be paid for in advance.
